I'm sorry, but I think a lot of it boils down to the boat operator. I have never seen it happen here, nor have I heard of that happening to anyone. My hubby know tons of guys who have these boats, and we have one too, never even came close to that kind of accident.

Yep, I agree. A little common sense needs to come into play here also. They were making full turns on at full throttle, most people are simply not going to do that at least not in that style of boat, most fisherman would like for their stuff to remain in the boat. Like you, I have never heard of that happening either and I have been on those boats and have known several people that have had those boats for years and never had those issues.

Our 2007 Explorer came with the wrist lanyard, to kill the engine, but it's only effective if the driver puts it on. My hubby doesn't usually put it on, but then again we aren't trying nascar moves on the water.
