Awesome. Grillin' chicken has always been a challenge for me. Mine always comes out lookin' and smellin' great. But when you cut it to the bone you'll either wanta draw a chalk line around it or stick it in the microwave. 😳

There is a fine line between not done and chicken jerky. I have all but stopped grilling chicken because Patsy and disagree on how long it needs to be cooked. I like this guys method and will give a try soon. I agree, measuring that temperature is a good idea too.

I tried it last night. That's a lot of work. I had trouble keeping my charcoal hot enough. I'm a stick burner. I had to add charcoal. A couple pieces of hickory did the trick. It came out much better. Didn't even need the microwave this time. 😁

It came out much better. Didn't even need the microwave this time. 😁 Yep, I tried this too. My problem is I bought a humongous off brand bag of lump charcoal (that I don't like) but use anyway so as not to waste it and it just doesn't add any flavor to the meat. And, the chicken was almost done, I mean it was right there. It probably needed another 15 minutes, it wasn't bloody or nothing, but the wings and legs just didn't pull off when I gave them a little tug. So, next time I will give the the "pull" test before they come off the grill. Having said all that....all in all it was not bad. Next time I think I will marinate the chicken first or at least put a lot of dry rub on it hours ahead of time or I may even inject with something. And, of course cook it a little longer.
