We are finally drying out down here, but glad to see the drenching the hill country has gotten.

While we always welcome rain, it would be nice if it didn’t wash out roads and water crossings, and fences. 🤦🏼♀️😑 We got 8 inches total, 6 of that came in about 3 hours.

That's true, we have 7 miles of rock road that we take care of. Several of us have tractors and box blades, we will either have a work day or whoever is up there and has the time will make a few passes to clean them up a tad. Once every few years we hire a guy with a maintainer to dump 20 or 30 loads of rock where it needs it and fix it properly. I bet the roads are a mess now.

An email I got from one of my hunting neighbors. "Your place is fine on the outside. Roads are destroyed pretty much. With rain forecast rest of the week I’m not gonna try to fix anything this weekend. It’s a mess. Been fixing high fence flood gaps since we got here"

Glad your place is ok. Sucks about the roads though.
We had our POA president send out a mass email telling folks to stay away tjis weekend, and attached a few pics that I took. I made a sign for the front gate that said “if you don’t have 4wheel drive, you WON’T make it”. What do we see about 10:30 yesterday morning, a 2wheel drive truck heading to the back. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ Never saw them come back out, and we weren’t about to go see if they made it. Friggin idiots

Friggin idiots I was telling Patsy the other day, not sure why I even bothered to buy a 4x4 since I only really needed to use it one time. However, if you own property you just never know.

We have had to use 4x4 several times, we will always have one truck that has it.

We are soaked. It seems like it's been raining a month. The ground is so saturated that shallow rooted trees are falling over. All the creeks and rivers are out of their banks. Have yall seen the footage of the Llano and Brazos rivers? S Texas is gonna have big problems when all this precip gets down there. That'll teach me to do the rain dance. 😁

That footage of the water at Llano was crazy! Never seen that much water there. The bad thing is that there is rain in the forecast for the next 7 days. 😑😞
DCS, I was reading on one of the Brazoria County pages, that the NWS is predicting the Brazos will reach 43 ft(minor flood) at ?Rosharon, in a few days.
