We currently have a 27" 720P flat screen with a VCR hooked up in the Camper . We are 5 miles from Olney Tx.
My question is what do I need to hookup for free local TV signals ?
Is it possible ?
A digital Converter box with antenna ?
Thanks in advance !

Ive been looking into this also.I want to use my Dish Subscription at the lease. You use to be able to mount another dish and take your receiver box from home and get all the channels you do at home.Dish told me that it wouldn't work and wanted to sell me another subscription .That aint happenin!

Udamdan, if your TV is newer(like 5 years or newer), you should only need an antenna. You shouldn't need a converter.
David, we just went thru this with DirecTV. When we took our extra receiver and dish with us to south TX, we got signal and had channels, we just didn't have the local channels. We still had the channel package we were paying for, and our movie channels. DISH is a little tougher to set up though. Their signal strength is "excellent" in the 70-80% range, whereas DirecTV you can get to 90-100%. The key is to know what direction to point the dish to get started.
DCS, that antenna seems like a great one for the price.

I got DISH on my phone. I've never had a TV at my lease. We hunt about 25 miles S of Brownwood, the reception there is terrible. One of my buds put up a huge antenna years ago and only got 3 channels and they had a ton of static. We like to listen to the radio out there. I love the Friday night HS football games.

David, Dish is full of it. We did that very thing for years, the receiver doesn't know where it is at or does it care. Put up another dish, take your receiver out there and plug it in. We finally broke down and bought another receiver after we upgraded. Our old receiver had a power cord and the cord from the dish so it was simple, the new ones have about 6 cords. We took it up there one time and after screwing with it for two hours when we got back home I said, "That's it". We bought another receiver for about a $100 and $5 a month to leave up there.
