I'd like to know how the crab thing works. I'd also be interested in helping you with some future bait.

I dumped the second batch of crabs shells in the small trap last night, nothing this morning. I would imagine the coons, cats, armadillos, possums, etc had themselves a field day, but I forgot to turn the game cam back on.

Well, the hogs are still here tearing up the yard......
The neighbors tried to trap them while we were gone on the trip and had no luck getting them in the trap. Today, I placed a bunch of brush on the trap to make it not look so much like a trap, rebaited it up with corn and some "Hog Wild" hog attractant. Plus, I put up two of these
.
So, I have the trap baited, sensor alarms are operating, spotlight is charged and the AR is lock and loaded.

Nothing so far, the alarms did go off around 4am or so and then again around 5 something or other. Probably, a dog or something.....

Well, you are hot on their tails, bound to get one sooner or later.

Well, the alarms went off about an hour ago, crept around the corner of the house and saw a good sized black hog, as soon as I hit him with red light he took off. I need a trip wire and claymore mines I guess.

Rig up a small light that stays lit, they will get used to it, and you won't spook them when it's time to take a shot.

They hit us again for the last several nights, the traps are full of stuff and they just ignore them. I am just about ready to fence the entire three acres in and be done with it.

It may take them a day or two to get used to it, or they may not care at all and come right back. Have you checked it out at night, to make sure you can see well enough in your scope?

I have the EOTEC scope on so, I just have to put the red cross hairs on them and they are done.
It went off right as I was going to bed, again at about 3am and again around 5am. Each time I went out and saw nothing. Not sure I am going to want to continue this mode of operation, I was really tired this morning. I am thinking about putting a motion detector light out there as well the alarms out in the yard instead of my bedroom. You would think lights and alarms would keep them away.

Yeah, you would think a light alone would be enough, but some don't care. We have a ton of acorns on the ground at our house, and they are getting closer and closer to our house too. Just got the batteries charged for my night vision scope, but can't find the dang magazine for my AR.

That night vision scope sounds interesting, what kind is it?

It's a Pulsar N750. I haven't hunted with it yet, just looked through it a couple times after dark. It's been just sitting in the gun case for over a year, I have to get familiar with the settings all over again.
