He may be like our three legged doe we called "tripod". No one wanted to shoot her and she became a pet. We watched that deer for 4 or 5 years have off spring and sometimes twins. She was a good mama, if they were inside the pen eating and another deer jumped in, she would get up on her back legs and start fighting it to run it off. It was always a big deal when talking to the neighbors, "Hey, we saw "Tripod" the other day"!
I looked at her leg and never did see any injuries or scaring. I think maybe she was born with three legs or something happened when she was very young.
She has been gone a while now, guess she just died of old age or something got her. Someone saw her in a game came and noticed she was very skinny, no one around here was going to shoot her.

Well Stickshift isnβt gonna be safe, unfortunately for him. If yβall didnβt notice on his pic, his left spike grows down across his face. Looks like a lifetime injury to me, not just damaged for this season.
